In this presentation Ayu Laksmita and Ana Setiyani from Luminary will showcase a new Umbraco build for the Cervical Cancer Control. Tailor the Block Grid Editor to your needs

In this workshop, you learn how the layout abilities of the Block Grid Editor can accommodate your project.

We will not just use the editor as it comes but we will look into how the layout can be fully customized.

This includes:
Using the same stylesheet within your front-end and back-office.
Making special layout rules for individual Blocks, such as responsive behavior. Writing custom views for Blocks. Making contextual styling, such as different appearances based on Block size and styling adapted to the context of the Block.

If you want to create an immersive editorial experience for your Content Writers, then this will be the workshop for you.

You should be familiar with the most common HTML, CSS features. Knowledge of modern CSS techniques is not required as we will learn some of that as part of this workshop.

As well you must have a good basic understanding of Umbraco Backoffice as we will be making DocumentTypes, Razor Templates, ElementTypes, and DataTypes. Generally taking it for granted that you are aware of how this is done.

And you should have awareness of the Block Grid Editor, as we will jump straight into customizing this.

With the Umbraco v7 fast approaching its End of Life (September 2023), it is time to move your Umbraco v7 projects to the latest version of Umbraco v10+.

And as for Umbraco v8, Umbraco have already stopped introducing new features and the security phase will start for Umbraco v8 on August 2023, so there isn't much time to upgrade your v8 projects, either.

So the question is, how could you do your upgrades so that you could start benefiting from all of the performance and security improvements of .NET 6 and Umbraco v10+, as well as the new features?

In my talk, I'll briefly explain why the Umbraco upgrades are necessary and then give the details for the exact steps to do the Umbraco upgrades. Finally, I'll also share some details to help plan with the future v10+ upgrades.

We are passionate about helping teams detect these issues early in the development process, empowering them to create more accessible products for customers and save time in the process. We offer several options to help you develop accessibly, which feature both automated and manual testing experiences and are optimized to meet teams wherever they are in their accessibility learning journey. Additionally, we have the axe-pipelines-samples repo that demonstrates how to integrate automated accessibility checks into Azure pipelines in projects with UI automation tests. In this workshop I'll be looking at how to use Umbraco in a load-balanced container-based application. Containers have revolutionised how modern scalable cloud-hosted applications are build, and this will give the audience a good foundation on the technology used and the applications for it.

Docker is a tool that's revolutionised cloud based application development and is used to build some of the biggest scalable, fault-tolerant cloud based applications.

I'll cover some of the concepts of what containers are, how they work, and how micro-architecture based applications allow for some pretty awesome scalable and robust application architectures.

During the workshop we'll create and host a container application using the latest Umbraco version and run it on a local Docker Desktop environment.
